If you’re filming while holding a portable hand-held camcorder, practice with your hand(s) in different positions while holding it.
Why?
Just because there may be an obvious place for your hands to be placed, doesn’t mean YOU will shoot comfortably holding it in that position.
It’s worth the time and “trouble”.
By practicing different methods of holding and shooting video, you won’t waste precious time fumbling when it really counts. — You’ll be able to hold it in a familiar way, and Capture a Steady Shot right off the bat.
Of course, this tip won’t really come in handy till the next time you shoot one of those one-time events…
